Systems Administrator/IT Support Specialist

Overview

Future Lab Studio is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems Administrator/IT Support Specialist on an independent contractor basis. This individual will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining our complex IT infrastructure, ensuring the seamless operation of our various tech-enabled solutions that we leverage in providing services and support to portfolio Startups.

Responsibilities

1. Analyze and determine the system needs of our organization.
2. Install and configure hardware and software for the network.
3. Maintain systems efficiency by performing necessary upgrades and repairs.
4. Develop and implement strategies to maintain system security across computers and the network as a whole.
5. Regularly optimize and evaluate systems.
6. Assign and update security permissions for the system network.
7. Train or direct users on the correct use of software and hardware within the system.
8. Perform problem-solving tasks when alerted by a user or monitoring system.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field. A Diploma or certification may be considered, depending on experience.
2. Certification in specific types of hardware, software, or products is a plus.
3. At least 3-5 years of experience in network administration, system administration, or databases.
4. Experience with automation and scripting tools.
5. Working knowledge of networking protocols, hardware, and networking software.
6. Proven track record of developing and implementing various IT strategies and plans.
7. Applicant must be aged 35 years and below.

Contract Details

This is a consultancy position on an independent contractor basis. The duration of the contract, hours, and compensation will be determined based on the project requirements and the consultant’s expertise. The consultant will be responsible for their own equipment and must have the ability to work remotely.
