Project Manager

Overview

Our venture studio is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team on a consultancy basis. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of professionals in completing projects by set deadlines to uphold our obligations to various stakeholders. You will be tasked with dividing up the budget for different project aspects, advocating for additional funding when necessary, hiring freelance professionals or selecting project team members from existing departments, and setting or adjusting project schedules to adhere to deadlines, among others.

Responsibilities

1. Creating long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines.
2. Delegating tasks on the project to various team members and external consultants best positioned to complete them.
3. Making effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project.
4. Serving as a point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy.
5. Communicating with executives and startup founders to keep the project aligned with their goals.
6. Performing quality control on the project throughout development to maintain the standards expected.
7. Adjusting schedules and targets on the project as needs or financing for the project change.

Qualifications

1. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in either business or management. Further study to obtain a master’s degree may also be requested for some project management positions.
2. Certifications such as the Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2 or similar are highly desirable.
3. Prior experience in any related leadership or management role, although direct experience as a Project Manager may not be required.
4. Valuable experience for a candidate includes work in the field or industry the project is in as well as management experience.
5. Strong leadership skills, interpersonal skills, decisiveness, problem-solving skills, the ability to delegate effectively, and time management skills.
6. Applicant must be aged 35 years and below.

Contract Details

This is a consultancy position on an independent contractor basis. The duration of the contract, hours, and compensation will be determined based on the project requirements and the consultant’s expertise. The consultant will be responsible for their own equipment.
