Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Scientist to join Future Lab Studio on a consultancy basis. The Data Scientist will work closely with Studio’s and Portfolio Startup and Corporates’ product and technical teams to analyze complex data sets, draw insights, and inform decision-making for various tech-enabled products and interventions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling.
Responsibilities
- Work with large and complex data sets, solving difficult, non-routine analysis problems, applying advanced analytical methods as needed.
- Conduct end-to-end analysis that includes data gathering and requirements specification, processing, analysis, ongoing deliverables, and presentations.
- Build and prototype analysis pipelines iteratively to provide insights at scale.
- Develop comprehensive understanding of data structures and metrics, advocating for changes where needed for product development.
- Interact cross-functionally with a wide variety of people and teams. Work closely with Studio and portfolio Startup and Corporates’ engineers to identify opportunities for, design, and assess improvements to products.
- Make business recommendations with effective presentations of findings at multiple levels of stakeholders through visual displays of quantitative information.
- Research and develop analysis, forecasting, and optimization methods to improve the quality of products.
- Leverage the Studio’s technology stack to unlock actionable insights
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Data Scientist or similar role in data analysis.
- Strong knowledge in statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets.
- Experience in machine learning techniques and algorithms.
- Proficiency in using query languages such as SQL, Hive, Pig.
- Experience with data visualization tools.
- Good applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.
- Good scripting and programming skills.
- Data-oriented personality, great communication skills, and strong problem-solving ability.
- Experience with the tools mentioned above is highly desirable.

Contract Details
This is a consultancy position on an independent contractor basis. The duration of the contract, hours, and compensation will be determined based on the project requirements and the consultant’s expertise. The consultant will be responsible for their own equipment and must have the ability to work remotely.
